Photo - Synthesis

For this portfolio, I truly wanted to showcase the idea of giving a seemingly insignificant piece of nature a truly more beautiful meaning than what meets the eye. I have always loved the sharpness of images and bringing such a small item of this world to more significant sizes. I also appreciate this portfolio's idea of abstract art brought to photography, stylizing a prominent object into something not so obvious—this love for enlarging small objects branches from my love of hummingbird photography. The idea to enlarge something that is not typically bigger than the size of your hand has always been a strange thing for one to love, yet it feels very natural to me. A more straightforward idea of this is that I enjoy embracing the beauty of the underdogs in this world.
