SIERRA OLSON
The goal of my project was to portray the opposite social norms of femininity and masculinity through clothing, makeup, accessories, etc.
Unfortunately there is a stigma around people of a certain gender wearing the opposite genders clothing and them being assigned a sexual orientation.
I wanted this project to completely throw that stigma out the window and portray that people should be able to wear whatever they want just because they want to, not due to any gender or sexual orientation. This particular concept is important to me because I believe in the impartial and objectiveness of clothing. I love wearing ‘boy’ clothes and ‘girl’ clothes because of how creative I can be with both.
These images truly reflect my work because they are colorful, fun and show a little bit of the amazing personality of the people that I shot and worked with during this project.
