Omar Barrera is a portrait photographer. His main work is in the studio production, but he occasionally steps out and does on location portraiture. He gains great joy of meeting new people and having the opportunity to photograph them.
I have always favored the clothing and aesthetics of the decades before us. For many people, fashion from the 60s or 70s are a huge influence in today’s fashion industry. Although stylists and fashion designers are always on the mission to make something new or more modern, their references can possibly be from three or four decades in the past. The purpose of this project is to shine a light on certain styles that people have developed due to the combination of vintage and modern fashion pieces. Each shoot will be an attempt to display a subject dressed in an outfit that is influenced by a decade ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s. Although the outfits will not be identical to the time period, the models tried to reflect the specific fashion era while also incorporating their own personal stylistic choices.
