For my capstone project, I set out to craft a portfolio that not only enhances my marketability post-graduation but also reflects my passion and creativity nurtured during my time at NAU. Through exploration, I've found joy in both portrait and product photography. This, in turn, sparked my vision for fashion photography, envisioning collaborations with esteemed brands like Free People, Anthropologie, Abercrombie, and PacSun to name a few. With meticulous attention to styling and posing, I've sought to infuse my work with a distinct flair that resonates with these brands' aesthetics.
Beyond its professional implications, this project holds sentimental significance. The models featured are not just subjects but cherished friends I've met here in Flagstaff, adding an authentic dimension to the project. Additionally, I incorporated self-portraits to showcase how self-expression has shaped my evolution as a photographer and has been instrumental in honing my skills.
The diverse landscapes of Arizona featured in each series hold a special significance for me, as Arizona has been instrumental in my personal transformation. Back in 2016, I attended the University of Arizona to pursue a degree in graphic design. However, at that time, academics were not my top priority, and I eventually dropped out. Fast forward to today, I'm on the verge of graduating with a degree that truly ignites my passion. To be honest, there were moments when I never thought I'd reach this milestone. So, if you're reading this, remember, that everything happens just the way it’s supposed to.
