Hi, I'm
Forrest Loving!
Hello, my name is Forrest Loving. I am a portraiture, food, and digital black-and-white photographer from Phoenix, Arizona. Starting as an amateur photographer at 16 years old, I decided to extend my education at Northern Arizona University. I have used light, composition, and motion as a way of telling a story and revealing something to my audience. More often than not, I take motion shots to add to the art of storytelling through movement.
My Capstone portraiture series revolves around the fashion industry. Every photograph is a representation of what you will see in the modeling industry. Whether these are editorial, commercial, or magazine shots, the goal is for you to be drawn to the model at hand. To be revolutionary, you have to know when to and when not to break the rules. As a result, I often play with unconventional lighting, while ensuring every portrait has a great amount of detail, especially around the eyes. The eyes are what draws you into a photograph. Throughout this gallery, you will see a collection of shots switching between plain and colorful backgrounds as you see models both inside and outside of the studio.
I aim to use my photography to help revolutionize the fashion industry and open the door to more people of color. This is an art that I find myself unable to live without. This is an art that I find myself unable to live without.
I hope you enjoy my series!
