Creators' Note

Northern Arizona University's 2021 Photography Capstone class presents 22 students of various backgrounds, passions, and approaches. This year's capstones emphasized many deeply impactful, emotional, and personal elements of the artists' lives. Going through online coursework during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the students faced unique challenges which led to intimate concepts and specialized executions. Lead by the direction of Sam Minkler, this year's capstone presents the wide variety of genres and aesthetics that students experience at NAU. With the creative help of Diana Ochs and Caleb Autry, this exhibition presents the final collective work of NAU's 2021 Photo Capstone class as many of these students receive their Bachelor of Science in Photography and continue their work beyond.
