Hello! My name is Maricela. My passion for photography started in high school with my first-ever photography class. I loved how I could be as creative as I wanted to and create a story using photos. It was only a few months after my high school graduation that I realized I love taking photos of cars and capturing the beauty and essence of these machines. My brother was the one who showed me this amazing world of cars and he’s the one who sparked my passion for automotive photography. I love capturing the uniqueness of each car and the personality that the owner brings to it.
Through these past 3 years attending Northern Arizona University I have learned a lot of different skills and techniques through capturing different subjects for example food, products, nature, and people. Capturing these subjects has taught me a lot and I can implement what I learned into automotive photography. For the capstone project, I wanted to challenge myself and jump right into automotive photography. During my junior year, I had the opportunity to get drone certified through NAU and I wanted to include this skill into my capstone project. I have only flown the drone a few times but I wanted to continue practicing so I could enhance my skills to be able to use drones in the future. I was able to practice and capture a couple of photos using the drone. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions at the time, I was unable to safely fly the drone to produce more photos. I am proud of the photos I produced and the skills I learned through this journey. This project has enriched my photography skills through all the obstacles I have overcome. My passion for automotive photography has grown even bigger.
